Today we celebrated Alberte’s graduation. Lone and Brian went to the school with Augusta around 11:00am to see Alberte receive her diploma. They hurried back to the house just after noon to find that Craig and Nick as well as Lone’s parents and brother Jack had joined us to celebrate.Ilse and Lars also arrived as well as Robert and Gitte, and Michael and Janna and their two older kids, Martha and William.Their youngest daughter, Sophia met us all later in the day.
Brian and I raising the Danish flag to begin the day. I was taught that it is very important to never let the flag touch the ground while doing this.
Alberte arrived at the house in the “party bus” with her classmates for a quick 15 minute stop to have a drink and some snacks before getting back on the bus and doing the same at the other classmates homes.It’s a long standing tradition in Denmark that goes back to even Lars’ time as a young person.

For supper, we all went to Janne and Michaels’ “kolonihave hus” for pizza and salad. It’s a small house in a common garden area that’s an old Danish tradition which started in order to give city dwellers a place to grow gardens.
This evening we drove with Ilse and Lars in their Tesla to their home in Nykøbing which is a little less than an hour from Copenhagen.
