In the morning, before taking the bus, we went for a nice walk

Today we travelled by electric bus from Geiranger to Åndalsnes.

After checking into our hotel in Åndalsnes, we rode the local gondola to the top of the mountain overlooking the town and several of the valleys all around. The view was incredible. We walked around the different areas of the summit and marvelled at the views.

Incredible vistas from the top
We eventually enjoyed a beer at a table looking down on the town.As we relaxed with our beers, we observed a whole group of young military people all dressed in fatigues and backpacks reaching the summit in single file. The had walked all the way up.They sure looked tired and it was nice to see that they were allowed to join us on the deck and have ice cream and other snacks.I realized that their commander had shared the gondola ride up to the top with us.I asked some of the young people how long it took them to climb the mountain and they said 2 hours and that they still had to walk down.
